Congresswoman Dina Titus Celebrates Grand Opening of Double-Decker Bus Manufacturing Facility in Southern Nevada
Dina Titus joins RTC and Alexander Dennis to open America’s only double-decker bus manufacturing facility in Las Vegas, boosting jobs and transit innovation.

Las Vegas, NV – August 6, 2025 – Today, Congresswoman Dina Titus (NV-01) attended the official ribbon-cutting of the new Alexander Dennis manufacturing facility in Southern Nevada, the first and only site in the United States producing double-decker buses.
The event, hosted by the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) and attended by transit officials and local leaders, marked a major milestone in Nevada’s economic diversification and national transit manufacturing.
“Manufacturing facilities like Alexander Dennis not only support our local economy, they establish new career opportunities and paths in manufacturing and transit,” said Rep. Titus. “This adds important economic diversification to our region.”
A First for U.S. Transit Manufacturing
Alexander Dennis, a world-renowned manufacturer of buses and a subsidiary of NFI Group, selected Southern Nevada to house its flagship U.S. facility. The plant will focus on building high-capacity, environmentally friendly double-decker buses for domestic transit agencies.
As the only manufacturer of its kind in the country, this Las Vegas-based site gives U.S. cities a Buy America-compliant option for transit fleet expansion.
Economic and Workforce Development Impact
The plant is expected to create dozens of high-paying manufacturing and engineering jobs, directly contributing to Southern Nevada’s employment landscape. Additionally, Alexander Dennis will collaborate closely with local workforce programs to offer job training and skill development opportunities in advanced vehicle production and clean transit solutions.
The project aligns with the federal infrastructure and job creation priorities supported by Rep. Titus through her work in Congress.
Driving Green Innovation in Public Transit
The buses produced at this facility will be integral to modernizing public transit fleets across the U.S., especially those focusing on low-emission and electric vehicles. Double-decker buses offer an eco-friendly solution to increase passenger capacity while reducing urban congestion and emissions.
About Alexander Dennis
Alexander Dennis is one of the world’s leading bus and coach manufacturers, with a reputation for innovation and reliability. Their double-decker models are widely used in the UK, Hong Kong, and now—through this U.S. facility—across North America.
