LAS VEGAS – Sept. 17, 2025 – The city of Las Vegas will celebrate the official opening of the Las Vegas Civic Center and the Carolyn G. Goodman Plaza with three days of free concerts, artist talks, and a grand opening festival. Located at 525 S. Main St., the new Civic Center serves as a downtown destination for cultural gatherings, festivals, and live performances.

Paige and The Overtones – Thursday, Sept. 18

Las Vegas native Paige Overton and her band, Paige and The Overtones, will headline a free concert at 5:30 p.m. Overton, formerly of The Clydesdale, has performed alongside Link Wray, Junior Brown, Dick Dale, and Wanda Jackson.

Meet the Artists – Friday, Sept. 19

From 6–7 p.m. in the Civic Center’s second-floor Public Meeting Room, guests can meet artists behind the new public artworks on display. Hosted by Vogue Robinson, the event will include talks by Tim Bavington, Chris Bauder, Fawn Douglas, Krystal Ramirez, Sean Slattery, and more.

Grand Opening Festival – Saturday, Sept. 20

From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., the Carolyn G. Goodman Plaza Grand Opening Festival will feature:

  • Live performances from Jacob Smigel, B. Rose, The Dirty Hooks, and Home Cookin’.
  • Food and desserts by Ole Manny’s Seafood Shack, Southern BBQ Pit, Simply Pure, Smokalicious Brisket BBQ, Barfly Bites, and Super Chill.
  • Locally brewed beer from Able Baker Brewery.
  • Family activities including artisan vendors, art zones, and free face painting.
  • A land acknowledgment and dance by Fawn Douglas of Nuwu Art.
  • Free blankets for the first 200 families.

Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets or low-back chairs. Parking is available at the nearby 500 S. Main St. garage.
