As a Media Intern, you will contribute to impactful campaigns that reach diverse audiences and inspire action. You will assist in developing compelling content, including social media posts, blog articles, videos, and infographics, to educate the public about human trafficking and its devastating effects. You will also help manage our social media presence, engage with followers, and track key metrics to measure the effectiveness of our online outreach.
This internship provides invaluable experience in nonprofit communications, digital marketing, and social advocacy. You will gain a deep understanding of the human trafficking landscape and learn how to use media as a powerful tool for social change.
Responsibilities:
* Assist in creating engaging and informative content for social media platforms, website, and other channels.
* Develop compelling visuals, including graphics and videos, to support our advocacy efforts.
* Manage social media accounts, schedule posts, and engage with followers.
* Conduct research on human trafficking issues and trends to inform content development.
* Assist in monitoring and analyzing social media metrics to track campaign performance.
* Support the development of marketing materials, such as brochures and presentations.
* Contribute to the creation of blog posts, articles, and other written content.
* Assist with website updates and maintenance.
Qualifications:
* Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree program in media, communications, journalism, marketing, or a related field.
* Strong writing, editing, and communication skills.
* Proficiency in social media platforms, including Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, X, and YouTube.
* Experience with content creation tools, such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro), or similar software.
* Passion for social justice and a commitment to ending human trafficking.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Excellent organizational and time management skills.
* Strong attention to detail.
* Experience with video editing is a plus.
* Familiarity with SEO best practices is a plus.
