Clark County Opens New Fire Station #39 in Southwest Las Vegas Valley
Las Vegas, NV — Clark County leaders, firefighters, and community members gathered this week to celebrate the grand opening of Fire Station #39, the newest addition to the Clark County Fire Department. The modern facility, located near Blue Diamond Road and Rainbow Boulevard in the fast-growing Southwest Las Vegas Valley, officially opened with a symbolic “hose-cutting” ceremony led by Commissioner Justin Jones and Fire Chief Billy Samuels.
Station 39 is already operational and answering calls, equipped with one fire engine and one rescue unit. Officials estimate that firefighters at the new station will respond to 2,000 to 3,000 emergency calls each year, bolstering public safety in one of Southern Nevada’s most rapidly expanding neighborhoods.
A Celebration for the Community
The grand opening was more than a ribbon-cutting—it was a full community event. Residents were invited to tour the new station, enjoy a complimentary breakfast, and give children the chance to explore firefighting equipment and tools.
Adding a fun twist to the day, Commissioner Jones and Chief Samuels both participated in a dunk tank challenge, much to the delight of attendees braving the August heat.
“This station represents a major investment in the safety and future of this community,” said Commissioner Jones. “As Southwest Las Vegas grows, so must our infrastructure and first responder presence.”
Meeting the Needs of a Growing Region
The Southwest Las Vegas Valley has experienced explosive growth in recent years, making the addition of Station 39 a critical piece of infrastructure. The station provides quicker response times for emergencies ranging from fires to medical calls, ensuring residents in this booming area receive timely and life-saving assistance.
Fire Chief Samuels emphasized the station’s role in enhancing emergency coverage. “We are proud to expand our reach and better serve the families and businesses in this part of the valley,” he said.
