Intersection Improvements Begin Soon At Jones/Lake Mead and Charleston/Torrey Pines
Completion of the work is expected in February of 2024. Use of alternate routes is recommended during the project

Work To Begin May 1 At Jones & Lake Mead Boulevards Intersection
Roadway improvements will begin May 1 at the intersection of North Jones and West Lake Mead boulevards as part of a two-location contract that also will improve the intersection of West Charleston Boulevard at South Torrey Pines Drive.
Work will include the construction of dedicated right-turn lanes and bus turnouts at both intersections, as well as underground utility adjustments, traffic signal modifications, mill and overlay of existing pavement, installation of sidewalk, curb, gutter, streetlights, medians, signage, striping and the addition of intelligent transportation system infrastructure.
Project work hours will be Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Some night work will be required. Work at the Charleston/Torrey Pines location is expected to begin after Memorial Day. See the maps.
Drivers should initially expect disruption of traffic on both Lake Mead and Jones in the vicinity of the intersection. The extent of disruption will vary throughout the construction sequence, including lane closures.
Completion of the work is expected in February of 2024. Use of alternate routes is recommended during the project, including Smoke Ranch Road/Vegas Drive or Oakey Boulevard/Alta Drive for east/west travel and Rainbow Boulevard/Decatur Boulevard or for north/south travel.
Unicon, LLC is the contractor. Funding for the $5.25 million project is supplied by the Nevada Department of Transportation and the Regional Transportation Commission. For concerns during the project, call 702.778.3050 or 702.824.3417, or email [email protected].
