Las Vegas, NV – The City of Las Vegas has paused accepting applications for the recently launched Business Security Grant Program to assist qualifying business owners in qualified census tracts to improve their site security according to the notice on the City of Las Vegas website.

The application window for the Business Security grant is currently closed and pending review of applicant eligibility.

The application for Business Security grant funds is contingent upon the availability of funds.

The City of Las Vegas has other opportunities such as the Business Incentives to assist businesses located in downtown Las Vegas by providing business owners with project coordination assistance and/or financial aid when undertaking remodel work within existing buildings required to satisfy certain building, fire, and life safety code requirements within the city’s Redevelopment Areas.

Redevelopment projects may be eligible for limited financial reimbursement ($50,000 maximum) from the city for qualifying improvements. for more information, visit the City of Las Vegas Business Incentives.

About Business Security Grant Program.

The program, which began on March 7, 2023, offers reimbursement grants of up to $10,000 to businesses that want to add fencing, security cameras, lighting, gates, and other security measures.

While the grant program is open-ended in terms of the application process timeframe, there is a total cap of $1 million for the program. The grants are being awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, and applicants will be notified of the status of their application within 30 days of submission.

The City of Las Vegas hopes that this new grant program will help secure businesses by encouraging them to add additional security measures.

Business owners who are interested in applying for this program should be aware of a few key details:

Firstly, the grant recipients will be reimbursed up to $10,000 for approved security improvement expenditures. Business owners can be reimbursed for improvements that happened after March 3, 2021, with receipts for eligible expenses.

Secondly, the businesses must have been in operation as of December 1, 2019, and must be zoned commercial, industrial, or mixed-use operations. Restaurants are also eligible for this grant program as they are zoned commercial.

Lastly, qualifying businesses must be located in the City of Las Vegas and within a qualified census tract.
